I have to thank Andy for this picture that he took at Race City last year.

I went to fire up the old Caddy and found the keys were not in the ignition…..asked Marina and she remembers “putting them where their safe.” Now if she can just remember where that safe place is. I want to get it fired up and get it in the shop. Time to get my butt in gear and get some work done on some of these projects. Lee ordered the rest of the parts today to get the Firebird finished but that is for another post. Here is some pics that I took a couple a years ago. This is a cool way to get to the race track. HE HE boys n their toys……

I’ve been home a month and the weather has been crap……only way to describe it…….crap………cold and cloudy. Very little rain but cold. Today is the first nice day, and I have to work. Inside. Looking out the window at this wonderful nice day. I put the battery in the bike this morning and fired it up and have it ready to go for a run. Maybe tonight.

I miss my jungle. Wish I could be down there right now. With luck I hope to get down for August and September.  I hope that it warms up and I can get some good bike runs in and get my mind off of the jungle. Because right now I am in deep mourning from being away from my jungle.

I am planning on racing the Nationals in Edmonton this July. Maybe a couple of practice passes the Friday before and that’s going to be it for racing this summer. I just can’t justify the expense of racing a full season.  The Nationals are such a treat that I will make that and call it a summer.

Time to update the blog….there hasn’t been much going on…..2 weeks of rain will do that. I got the grass cut and now it is time to do some racing. Took the car down to Race City last night and made 4 passes. They are using 1/8 mile only because of water seepage on the upper part of the track but half track is better than nothing. The car worked well and I think we are ready to have some fun today. There is racing in Medicine Hat and in Edmonton this weekend so I don’t know how many cars they will have but it should be fun.

Lee got his truck going yesterday and is going to run in street class so it will be a good weekend….as long as the rain stays away.

Things went well at race city Wednesday night….The first Wed King of the Hill went off without a hitch. There was a good car count and the weather was perfect and the track was in good shape. There is a noticeable bump in the right lane but it is not a problem for everyone except the fastest cars. The car worked well with no problems….just need some runs to get the hang of the tranny brake. We plan on going down to secret street tonight…..have to put on street slicks and maybe thro on a license plate. The track won’t be prepped but I will just practice cutting lights and shifting with the new reverse pattern.

I must say that I am a little pissed over race city lack of communication with its supporters. We showed up on Friday night for Secret Street and were told that we could not run with slicks….I have no problem with this policy for Friday night but I wish they would have mentioned this somewhere. If it was on their site I missed it because I looked before we went down. I would have put on my street tires and maybe got a couple of shake down runs. Hopefully the weather will be alright for Medicine Hat this weekend. I will just go over the car and hope that everything is good. I hate doing shake down runs 3.5 hrs from home. I’m sure the King of the Hill is canceled for tonight at race city…..it has been raining hard all morning.    

I took the Caddy up to Castrol Raceway on Saturday and watched some good racing. There were some 6 sec cars out doing some test and tunes. There were a couple of Calgary cars up for the weekend….I still haven’t got the Firebird going but we are close. With luck we will have it ready for the Calgary season.

It looks like we are finally going to get some warm weather…..it is supposed to get into the 20s for the weekend.

I have been very busy with things and did not get the car ready for the first weekend at Edmonton. I still have to get the fuel system put back together, and I need to wire in the tranny brake. If I get any time at all this week I should make it to Edmonton next weekend. Oh yah…..I need to pull the seat and install a new racing harness. That will take a little time but shouldn’t be a big deal. I haven’t been that excited about racing yet but the season is here so I have to get my butt in gear and get this stuff done.
