Got the boat in the water. Author: Terry

I got the boat to Pavona, which is the boat access place for the river/cannel system. The trip from San Jose was fun …… my driver brought his niece and a couple of friends and it made the trip into a fun time. The kids were learning English and new enough to be able to talk to enough to make it fun.

When we got to Pavona and set the boat up the kids helped pump up the boat……it was fun and I was able to figure out how to put things together. Things went together pretty well and I had the boat in the water in short order. There is a foot bridge across the river right at the boat launch and the locals that were there lined up and  watched when I shoved off. I had to wonder what they were thinking as they watched this fat gringo loaded down with gear in this little raft going down the river. They were probably laying odds on whether they would ever see me again…..lol…The trip down the river was uneventful but exciting ….. getting my boat in the water after much work and time was so rewarding …. once  I decided that my boat was going to float and the motor was going to run I settled down and enjoyed the trip. There was a lot of current and you had to be careful in the corners but it was a nice fun trip down to Tortuguero and then up to Moya’s camp.

Went fishing with Moya for while and had a great time……even caught a few fish….and then Moya took me to Pavona in his boat ( his goes much faster than mine)  and then took me to the bus depot in Guapiles. After an uneventful trip back to San Jose I checked in to the Morizan and went to bed early…..up early and trying to get the blog updated……
